Active Wizard Version Features
Creating Dynamic Workflows just became easier than ever before.
Active Wizard Version 4.0 features many new and exciting features. View the Active Wizard 4.0 Overview demo in the TSG Learning Zone!
-
OpenContent Integration
- The administration module in the Active Wizard now communicates with the underlying repository through TSG's OpenContent web services. This abstraction layer allows us to communicate with multiple back end repositories. Active Wizard 4.0 will support both EMC Documentum and Alfresco as back end repositories to the Form Administration module.
-
Adobe Flex Active Form Module
- The same Adobe Flex module used by Active Wizard Lite (AWLite) is now the default Active Form module within Active Wizard. The Flex interface is embedded in the Active Wizard tab. The Flex module is faster and easier to use vs. the old interface. If desired, the old HTML Active Form module can still be used.
-
Optional Questions
- Administrators can now configure whether or not a question is optional or required on a form. To be consistent with prior releases, all questions default to ‘required’.
-
Disabled Questions
- Some clients run custom code that defaults questions to a particular answer. To prohibit users from changing the defaulted text, the administrator can now configure that the question is disabled.
-
WYSIWYG Question Type
- A new question type has been added called WYSIWYG. This type allows users to use bold, italics, bulleted lists, tables, etc. WYSIWYG questions are only supported with the new Flex-based Active Form module.
-
OpenAnnotate Integration
-
Active Wizard now has seamless integration with TSG's OpenAnnotate to allow users to annotate forms and document. PDF Annotation Services is still supported as well.
-
-
Place a form On Hold
- When a form is in the Draft state, users in a configurable group can now place the form ‘On Hold’. This action moves the form to a suspension state in the lifecycle. The form drops off of the owner’s “Forms in Progress” table and is only accessible through search. The form can be resumed back to the Draft state once the Hold is released.
-
Form Power Approval
- Users in a configurable group can now “Power Promote” a Draft form straight to Approved, thereby bypassing the normal approval route.
-
Form Closure
- Users in a configurable group can close approved forms. This action moves a form on its lifecycle from “Approved” to “Closed”. Closed forms drop off of the owner’s “Forms in Progress” table, and are only accessible through search.
-
Attach and Modify Workflow Documents
- As with the classic Active Form module, workflow documents can be attached to the form. However, in the Flex module, users can also checkout the document and modify its contents.
-
Replace Approver
- Users in a configurable group can now replace approvers while the form is in the Pending Approval state.
-
New Form Query Architecture
- Form queries are now managed separately from the form template. Therefore, you can define a query once, and reuse it across multiple forms.
-
Add PDF Rendition to Attached Docs
- Users with appropriate permissions can now add or modify a PDF rendition to a document from the Document tab.
-
Configurable Form Attributes
- Administrators can now configure the attributes that are displayed on the Inbox and Forms in Progress tables.
