Change Request

Companies in highly regulated industries have long struggled with streamlining the change request process. In fact, many companies today still use paper based change request forms to initiate and route proposed changes required by regulatory, product safety or product improvements.

Business Problem

Even those companies that have transitioned to an electronic change request process still require manual intervention for completing the process.  Typically, paper-based or electronic-based change request forms are routed to people that are not involved in the process or are not the right person to approve the changes. Additionally, information can be missing or excess information not required is entered onto the forms. Long review and approval times for these change request forms are common and people often spend most of their day tracking down where the change is in the approval process.

Many times, a large number of signatures are captured on a typical change request when in fact only a few are truly required. Also, the forms associated with the change are often full of errors or are incomplete, requiring that the change process be repeated. Impacted documents may need to be routed with the package to complete the approval process.

The change request process is repeated many times and the defined process changes often need to adapt to the changing business rules.

Active Wizard Solution

The Active Wizard has been used at many clients to streamline the entire change request process. The wizard-driven interface captures required form data and then utilizes that data to dynamically generate the form and the exact approval route. Impacted documents are selected from the document repository and routed with the change.
